Parks
We offer a variety of parks and recreational activities for kids and families. During the winter months, visitors can enjoy sliding at the Multi-Complex or explore the numerous skidoo trails and shacks in the area. Summertime fun includes splashing around the Spray Park!
Outdoor recreation and camping
Sturgis is a nature lover’s paradise, offering a range of outdoor activities for visitors and residents alike. The town boasts access to the beautiful Assiniboinne River, which runs through the local park and campgrounds. This area is a prime destination for fishing enthusiasts and offers opportunities for canoeing and kayaking as well. Additionally, the famous Route 66 passes through the town, adding to the numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation.
Sports
Sturgis has a long history of promoting a proud lacrosse community that offers opportunities for all ages to participate in this exciting sport. In addition to lacrosse, there are also options for ball, hockey, curling, and cross country through the local school, making it a vibrant sports and recreational hub for everyone to enjoy.
Sturgis Curling Rink
Operates February to March. We host many events including school curling, Senior Bonspiel, 2 vs 2 Bonspiel, Kids Bonspiel & the Matt’s Open. During the Matt’s Open, we host a poker derby plus a tasty breakfast and steak supper to end the season.
Sturgis Centennial Arena
Operates December to March. We host skating, shinny, private rentals, and a Hockey Day in February. Figure skating is also on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Sturgis Figure Skating Club
Lessons are Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm – 8pm. Carnival is the first weekend in March.
Rodeo Falls Park
Located adjacent to the READ Club. This beautiful park opened in June 1990. The horse and rider are symbolic to our connection to sports and rodeo.
Rodeo events
Sturgis Sports and Rodeo is proud to be the host of the Eastern Professional Chariot & Chuckwagon Association, which will be bringing Chariot and Chuckwagon racing to the Sturgis Sportsgrounds. Every heat is riveting, down to the hundredth of a second finishes, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats to cheer for their favourite teams.
Other entertainment includes a Ball Tournament, Gymkhana, Trade Show, Food Vendors, Mini Stage, Show and Shine, Beer Gardens with entertainment, fireworks at dusk, and events for kids.

Disc golf
Sturgis offers a beautiful disc golf course on the northeast side of the Multi-Complex. Follow the cut trail down the hill and around. It’s free to use, just bring your own discs. Have fun and enjoy!
